NEW Wood Windows and Doors CPDi

The Wood Window Alliance (WWA) has launched an innovative, interactive learning platform for architecture and construction professionals. The WWA Wood Window and Doors CPDi is designed to deliver knowledge, insights and a better understanding of how timber and modern manufacturing methods can build spaces that promote lower carbon emissions, lower stress and a connection with nature.

Future-proofed learning through CPDi

The WWA has invested heavily in the development of an online resource that can provide the industry with the latest insights into sustainable design and knowledge regarding the myriad benefits of using timber as a building material. Part of the team behind the creation of the new Wood Window and Doors CPDi, Kevin Underwood, Technical Director for the British Woodworking Federation said “Timber is often misunderstood. Many see it as a difficult and expensive material to work with – but this simply is not the case. As part of the BWF’s Build It Better With Wood strategy, we have work tirelessly to educate the market on the benefits of timber. The WWA Wood Window and Doors CPDi provides opportunity for us to connect with architects and construction professionals in a way that is best suited to their learning needs.”

Putting timber back in the frame

Designed to respond to the way the industry learns, the WWA Wood Window and Doors CPDi provides users with an intuitive micro-learning experience. By giving users the luxury of online bite-sized learning, the platform is helping them stay relevant with fast and effective knowledge regarding the performance, maintenance, and sustainability of timber, as well as the proven wellbeing effects associated with such a material.

When asked about the aim of the platform, Chair of the WWA Tony Pell said, “It’s designed to help architects and construction professionals understand the truth about specifying and working with timber, while dispelling any outdated misconceptions concerning the performance and properties of wood windows and doors.”
